HOW TO REGISTER FOR A PALS CLASS:

• Review the following list of mandatory class requirements

1) AHA BLS Provider certification card to bring to class

• Only cards issued by American Heart Association (AHA) will be accepted
• Card must still be current (not expired) on the day of class

 2) A current AHA (2015/2016 version) PALS Provider Manual

• Manuals may be borrowed from employer or purchased from us or anotherdistributor 

3) Pretest completed prior to class and bring printout of results

• Students will find instructions on how to access the pretest / precourse assessment in the 2015/2016 version of the AHA's PALS Provider Manual
• Once completed, the pretest results must be printed out and brought to class

4) Review the "Core Cases" in the PALS Provider Manual

• PALS may be difficult to pass without studying the material prior to the class
• After registering for class, we send a supplemental study guide, as a file attached to your registration confirmation e-mail. The study guide does not replace the required manual, but provides areas to focus on while studying

5) Cardiac rhythm recognition

• PALS students are expected to be familiar with basic cardiac rhythm reading, and able to identify the following rhythms: NSR, SB, ST, SVT, VF, VT, PEA, and asystole. PALS students are not expected to interpret a 12 lead EKG.
• PALS class DOES NOT TEACH cardiac rhythm interpretation - PALS students who cannot identify these listed rhythms will have a very difficult time passing the PALS class
• If you do not know the rhythms, or need help identifying the rhythms required for PALS, we offer a Basic Rhythm Interpretation class (Same as part 1 of the ACLS course) - though the class is geared more toward adults, PALS students will benefit from the basic rhythm recognition practice, as names of actual cardiac rhythms are not age dependent.

6) Renewal students only - current AHA PALS card to bring to class

• Card must still be current (not expired) on the day of class
• If PALS card is expired, student must take the full course (AHA requirement) 

Course fees are non-refundable. Late rescheduling requests will be charged an extra fee. No shows forfeit entire course fee. Certification cards issued at the end of class, upon successful completion of course requirements.
