This is a great class to prepare students to take the advanced life support classes, but may also be taken separately.
Advanced life support courses require students to have the ability to recognize basic cardiac rhythms. This is part 1 of the ACLS Full Course, but may be taken separately. It is also open to anyone wanting to learn or brush up on basic cardiac rhythm recognition.

Class dates: Scroll down this page to see available class dates and registration. This class is also titled "ACLS - Day 1, Part 1", but students may take this class alone, if not taking ACLS. Basic EKG class length = 4 hours.
Requirements: All course materials, including a student workbook and handouts will be provided at the time of class. There are no prerequsistes or previous experience or study required for this course.*Please note: this is not a 12-lead EKG course.
This class includes (but is not limited to):
Basic EKG rhythm interpretation: Including identification and measurements of cardiac waveforms and monitoring methods.
Practice recognition of cardiac rhythms such as: NSR, SB, ST, SVT, VF, VT, asystole, a-fib, a-flutter, and heart blocks.
Basic anatomy review: Overview of how cardiac function relates to creating visible cardiac waveform elements.
Pharmacology: Intro to medications commonly used in cardiac arrest codes, emergency care, and to treat arrythmias.
